There’s a hidden message in the newest ‘Silicon Valley’ trailer, and it’s so meta it hurts

The writers at 'Silicon Valley' sure do know their audience.

Not since Futurama have we had such excellent binary jokes.

The trailer for Silicon Valley Season 5 has been out for a few weeks not, but it contains a hidden message you still may not have seen.

At one point in the trailer we see antagonist extraordinaire and exploiter of exotic animals Gavin Belson standing in front of a screen displaying binary code.

Behold the might of Gavin Belson.

Hidden in the first few lines is a message, visible if you translate them from binary into English.

When translated:

“01100110 01101001 01101110 01100100 00100000 01100001 00100000 01101000 01101111 01100010 01100010 01111001 00100000 01100110 01101111 01110010 00100000 01100111 01101111 01100100 00100111 01110011 00100000 01110011 01100001 01101011 01100101”

“Find a hobby for God’s sake.”

Silicon Valley is no stranger to taking elaborate nerd jokes to their extremes, having actually employed a mathematician to write a paper on the “Optimal Tip-to-Tip Efficiency” dick-joke from Season 1.

Well played Belson, well played.
