by Mark Anderson

Jordan Klepper may take on the posture of an East Coast elitist his words in his field pieces for The Daily Show. But as we learn in tonights hour-long special on Comedy Central, ironically titled Jordan Klepper Solves Guns, he actually grew up going on hunting trips with his grandfather in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was relatively early in his Daily Show correspondent tenure that Klepper broke through with a hilariously insightful field piece that aimed to debunk the good guy with a gun theory that became a prominent NRA talking point following the Sandy Hook massacre in December 2012. Despite […]

Donation of animals by Zimbabwe wildlife conservancy to rewild war-torn park could not have happened without big-spending hunters Call it Noahs Ark on lorries. Dozens of trucks rolled over the Zimbabwe savanna carrying elephants, giraffe, African buffalo, zebras, and numerous other large iconic mammals. Driving more than 600km of dusty roadway, the trucks will deliver their wild loads to a new home: Zinave national park in Mozambique. The animals are a donation from Mozambiques Sango Wildlife Conservancy a gift that the owner, Wilfried Pabst, says would not be possible without funds from controversial trophy hunting. Hong Kong (CNN)Coming soon: a nation in space for humans. Named after a Norse mythological city of the skies, Asgardia is open to all residents on planet earth and it doesn’t cost anything to join. Russian scientist Dr Igor Ashurbeyli announced his plans to form the world’s first independent nation that operates in outer space in October 2016. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have signed up to be citizens. Ashurbeyli says the project’s mission is to provide a “peaceful society”, offer easier access to space technologies, and protect Earth from space threats, such as asteroids and man-made debris […]

If you've ever wanted Ron and Leslie to judge you, NBC has the perfect show.Image: Getty Images Our lives have been so much darker since Parks and Recreation left our screens. Luckily, the beautiful people known as Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman (aka Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson) are reuniting to make the world a better place, one handmade object at a time. Poehler and Offerman will host a six-episode competition series called The Handmade Project (sadly no relation to Hulu’s Handmaid’s Tale, although we’d love to see their take on that too), which Poehler will produce through her Paper […]

5 Of The Stupidest Things I Learned After Owning Fish

Last December, I got an aquarium. Because like most people who have never owned one, I thought, “This will be a simple, cheap pet that requires virtually no maintenance.” Six months later, I have sunk a couple thousand dollars and a hundred hours worth of research into this soul-crushing, bullshit hobby. So to save you the eventual mental breakdown that comes with learning how to not murder dozens and dozens of innocent fish, I’m going to myth-bust some of the misconceptions I had in the beginning. Here I go. 5 I’ll Just Throw Some Tap Water In The Tank And- […]

Here it is: The most satisfying video on YouTube

With the notable exception of Deadspin writer Tom Ley, I think we can all agree that this video of eye-twitch-inducing failures is YouTubes most unsatisfying video: It takes peaceful things, like Zen gardens, and things that typically bring me great joy, like cake cutting, and bastardizes them beyond repair. I had to stop watching long before the end of its nearly six-minute run. But when I tabbed back over to YouTube to find an antidote, I was met with another form of chaos: Screengrab via Google YouTube returns approximately 1.3 million results for the search term most satisfying video, many […]

From “Will they or won’t they?” to “What does Chewbacca’s dong look like?” all great pop culture requires a whiff of enigma. Inevitably, some of these questions will be left unanswered by the end of any story, but isn’t it better that way? We don’t need to know the solution to every single mystery posed by our favorite shows or movies, no matter how dumb or inconsequential, right? Who are we kidding? OF COURSE we need to know all that crap! Luckily, there’s always someone on the internet who has gone through insane lengths to answer all the questions the […]

5 ‘Meh’ Directors Who Do One Thing Better Than Anyone Else

by Woody Smith

If there’s one thing that’s certain on this big blue marble, it’s that Hollywood is no meritocracy. There has never been a more wretched hive of mediocrity and outright lack of talent than modern filmmaking, and that’s including certain space cantinas. Directors can have movie after movie somehow greenlit and shoved into theaters, despite being overwhelmingly recognized as being terrible. But even the worst directors in the world don’t get there out of nowhere. Each of them has some special hidden move, like Pokemon who make bad movies. 5 Kevin Smith Is Great At Monologues (And Terrible At Dialogue) There […]
